Room information

The room accommodates two people and features a spacious and comfortable double bed, ideal for a restful night’s sleep right in the heart of Alkmaar. The room also has its own toilet and shower, ensuring you enjoy complete privacy during your stay. For added comfort, a smart TV and free Wi-Fi are provided.

In the building, guests can use a shared kitchen with a cozy sitting area. You’re welcome to start your day here in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, or grab something to go before you set out to explore the city.

Alkmaar’s Historic Center

From our BNB, you can step right into Alkmaar’s historic center. The city is known for its rich history, lively atmosphere, and compact layout, making it easy to explore everything on foot. Stroll along the canals, admire the historic buildings, and enjoy a drink at one of the many outdoor cafes. A visit to Alkmaar isn’t complete without the world-famous cheese market on Waagplein. From late March through late September, it takes place every Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During the summer months, there is also an evening cheese market on Tuesday evenings. A unique experience where the city takes a step back in time. Culture lovers will also find plenty to enjoy. Visit the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, the Beer Museum, discover hidden courtyards, or be surprised by the small boutiques in the charming streets surrounding our BNB.

Nature, the beach and the city within reach

In addition to the city’s vibrancy, the area around Alkmaar offers plenty of peace and nature. By bike or car, you can quickly reach the dunes or the beaches of Bergen aan Zee, Egmond aan Zee, or Schoorl—perfect for a long walk or a day out in the fresh air. Want to spend a day in a bigger city? Amsterdam is easily and quickly accessible by train. From Alkmaar station, you can be in the heart of the capital in about 35 minutes, ideal for a day filled with culture, shopping, and museums.

Practical Information

  • Check-in: from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. If you’d like to leave your luggage earlier, you may do so at your own risk in the shared area of our BNB until you can go to your room.
  • Check-out: by 11:00 AM
  • Same-day reservations: can be made until 7:30 p.m. at the latest (your luggage must be in the room by 8:00 p.m.).
  • Parking: Pay parking is available right outside, and there are several (paid) parking garages within walking distance (use Google to find the cheapest one or the one that’s free). Of course, you can drive up to the BNB to unload all your luggage
  • Breakfast / Kitchen: Shared kitchen available; make your own coffee/tea or take it to go
  • Wi-Fi: free
  • Room amenities: comfortable double bed, private shower and toilet, smart TV
  • Location: right in the heart of Alkmaar’s historic center, with shops and restaurants just around the corner (everything is within walking distance)
  • Public transportation: Alkmaar train station a short distance away; Amsterdam reachable by train in approximately 35 minutes
  • Use of the shared area: permitted until 8:00 p.m.”
